More Than Natural Gas Treatment:
Alternative Energy
From “greenbacks” to “greenthumb” -- we believe that sustainability of
Earth’s natural resources should be the driving factor behind global commerce. In fact, working WITH the earth instead of against it means
greater long-term profit for ALL of us.
Landfill Gas
Municipal solid waste landfills are the largest source of human related
methane emissions in the U.S., accounting for about 34% of all man-made
emissions. Each day millions of tons of municipal solid waste are disposed
of in sanitary landfills and dump sites around the world, creating a by-product of decomposition: landfill gas.
Landfill gas, if left uncollected, is a major source of odor and contributes to
smog and ozone depletion in the atmosphere. If collected and treated
properly, landfill gas can be a long-term renewable source of energy,
displacing shrinking fossil fuel reserves in gas pipelines all over the world,
while almost completely eliminating the environmental consequences of
solid waste decomposition.
SouthTex is uniquely qualified for landfill gas treating and associated project development based on the following:
- Financial strength to finance all viable projects
- Technical expertise, as builders and operators of three physical solvent plant for landfill gas treating over the past 6 years
- Innovation, as evidenced by process modifications and patent pending improvements
- Resources, as owners of 25 acres of gas processing equipment and ASME Code shop for vessel and plant construction, along with drafting, operations, and engineering support
