SouthTex is currently operating a high btu plant on the Jefferson Davis Parish Landfill.  The plant has been treating landfill gas since March 2008, and is selling gas into Gulf South Pipeline. 

From contract signing to startup, the project took eight months. Over six miles of electrical transmission lines were re-conductored for the compression load, and extensive over voltage equipment was installed to assist the transmission system. 

SouthTex has drilled new wells, created horizontal wells, and re-drilled esixting wells to maximize methane extraction from the gas collection system. Current flows from the landfill are in excess of 1,500 cfm, with growth expected over the 30+ year life of the project.
