BTEX Removal

With a minimum capital investment, the BTEX-T.rex™ stripping unit using the BTEX-T.rex™ engineering services will strip the BTEX components from amine, sending them with the gas to the process heater, where the components are burned safely, transformed into carbon dioxide and water vapor, economically protecting your downstream equipment, all the while in compliance with EPA regulations.

Minimum Capital Investment and
Minimum Operating Expenses

The best way to compare the three options for BTEX component removal (activated carbon, vent gas incineration, BTEX -T.rex TM Unit) is to compare the installation and operating costs for the same conditions. The table below illustrates economic comparisons for the three options applied to a 600 gpm amine treating plant designed for 150 MMscfd with over 600 ppmv BTEX components.

  Activated Carbon  Incineration  BTEX-T.rex
Est. installed cost $1,900,000  $500,000  $150,000
Est. fuel cost $13,000  $235,000  $0
Est. materials (annual) $17,000  $10,000  $2,500
Est. labor (annual) $25,000  $15,000  $10,000
Monthly cost (36 mo. Payout) $58,195  $35,555  $5,208

Tested and Proven
Plants in Texas, New Mexico, and Louisiana are currently using BTEX-T.rex TM units, designed and built by BTEX-T.rex TM design and engineering services to comply with Federal mandates on BTEX emissions.
