Treatment Services and Efficiencies
That Stand the Test of Time...
SouthTex was founded in 1986 for the primary purpose of providing contract gas treating services and equipment. A family owned company employing more than 70 employees in Texas, Kansas, Arkansas and Colorado, SouthTex has grown at a rapid rate and has expanded into the design, construction, and start up of many types of facilities including landfill gas plants, amine plants, physical solvent plants, glycol dehydrators, refrigeration/dew point control plants, and catalytic oxygen removal units.
SouthTex contract treats (designs, builds, owns, and operates) with several facilities, as well as designs, sells and leases complete plants from our 84 acre Odessa, Texas office, equipment yard, and code shop.
SouthTex is a privately held partnership, whose ownership is evenly distributed among David, Paul, and Luke Morrow.
Key Personnel
SouthTex employs over 70 people, including six engineers (chemical, mechanical, and electrical), four plant managers, four full-time draftsmen, two construction managers, a production scheduling manager, and a host of welders, pipe fitters, operational staff, and ASME Code certified welders. SouthTex also employs a full time CPA, personnel manager, and office manager.
Related Business
In other aspects of the business, SouthTex has treated as much as 200 million cubic feet per day for clients, and built treating facilities capable of more than a billion cubic feet per day. For the past couple of years, SouthTex has also sold more than 30 amine treating plants per year, along with liquids recovery plants, dehydrators, and other related treating and processing equipment. SouthTex is also working to co-develop projects with manure digester manufacturers that capture methane from dairy cow manure and convert it to pipeline quality gas. The first manure to methane plant designed and constructed by SouthTex began operation in 2006, which is the first of its kind in the world.
